Lawyer Verification Policy

How we verify and maintain the integrity of lawyers on the platform.

Lawyer Verification — DekhLaw

1. Verification Model

DekhLaw performs a basic enrollment check before approving any lawyer profile: we verify that the Bar Council enrollment number provided matches a current enrollment record in publicly available State Bar Council records at the time of profile approval. This confirms the enrollment was active at time of listing only — it does not constitute ongoing verification.

2. Verification Limitations

DekhLaw does not guarantee the ongoing professional standing, disciplinary status, or current enrollment of any listed lawyer. Users are strongly advised to independently verify a lawyer's current enrollment with the relevant State Bar Council before engaging any legal services.

3. Permitted Profile Content

Lawyers may include: full legal name; Bar Council enrollment number and State Bar Council; practice areas; courts practised in; location (city and district); years of experience; educational qualifications; languages spoken; professional contact information; and a single professional headshot.

4. Prohibited Profile Content

The following is expressly prohibited: promotional language ('best lawyer', 'top advocate', 'expert', 'specialist', etc.); testimonials or case outcome claims; success rate or win/loss statistics; any language designed to solicit or advertise legal services; content that violates BCI professional conduct standards.

5. Search Rankings

Lawyer profiles are ranked in search results based exclusively on: practice area relevance; geographic proximity; current availability status; and historical response time. No lawyer can pay DekhLaw for higher placement.

6. Misrepresentation & Removal

If a lawyer is found to have provided false information or violated this Policy, DekhLaw may: immediately suspend the profile; permanently remove the listing; notify the relevant State Bar Council; and assist in legal proceedings against the lawyer.
