DekhLaw is a technology platform that helps you find and connect with enrolled advocates across India. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice ourselves — we make it easier for you to find verified lawyers based on your location and legal need.
DekhLaw verifies each lawyer's Bar Council enrollment number against publicly available State Bar Council records at the time of profile approval. This confirms the enrollment was active at time of listing. We strongly recommend you independently verify a lawyer's current status with the relevant State Bar Council before engaging legal services.
Use the search on the homepage — enter your city and select your legal area. Browse results, view lawyer profiles, and request a consultation directly. You can also use the SOS feature if you need urgent legal help immediately.
No. Simply browsing or contacting a lawyer on DekhLaw does not create a lawyer-client relationship. A formal relationship is established only when the lawyer formally accepts representation in writing and a separate engagement agreement is signed.
The SOS feature is an urgent connection service that attempts to connect you with an available enrolled advocate based on your location and legal query type. It is for genuine legal emergencies — such as being detained, receiving an urgent legal notice, or needing guidance at a court proceeding. It is not an emergency service.
No. DekhLaw does not guarantee that any lawyer will be available when you activate SOS, that a lawyer will respond within any specific time, or that you will receive legal representation. Availability depends on which advocates have marked themselves SOS-available at the time of your request.
Visit the Register As Lawyer page, fill in your details including your Bar Council enrollment number, practice areas, city, and years of experience, and submit the form. Your profile will be reviewed and approved after enrollment verification. Registration is free.
No. Your consultation fee is entirely your own professional fee paid directly by the user to your designated payment account. DekhLaw charges users a separate platform facilitation fee for technology infrastructure and connection services. This structure is designed to comply with the Advocates Act 1961 and BCI rules.
Refunds may be issued if: the consultation was not conducted due to a DekhLaw platform failure; the lawyer did not respond; a duplicate payment was made due to a platform error; or a lawyer is found to have misrepresented their enrollment. Refunds are not issued for dissatisfaction with legal advice. See our Refund Policy for full details.
No. DekhLaw does not sell your personal data to any third party for any purpose. We do not use your personal data for unsolicited marketing or advertising profiling. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
First consultation is free — your very first call (up to 10 minutes) costs nothing. After that, a flat ₹199 platform facilitation fee applies per session to connect you instantly with a verified lawyer. The lawyer's own consultation time is billed separately at the rate they set and agreed directly between you and the advocate. We also offer a Document Review service (₹499 per document, coming soon) where a lawyer reviews your legal document and gives a written opinion within 24 hours. DekhLaw never takes a share of the lawyer's fee — the ₹199 is purely for platform infrastructure.
